OOPS! We did it again!!

Another whirlwind weekend for the girls!

I picked up my sister a the airport on Thursday, we headed to Mimi's for breakfast, tj maxx for some concert clothes, stopped by the Scrapbook store, then checked in to the Mandalay bay hotel, got a beautiful room on the 33 floor, whew, what a view!

We headed to Ri-Ra Irish pub in MB, for a fabulous dinner, Bangers and Mash and a Reuben Sandwich! YUMMY!

After dinner we headed down the strip to the Cosmopolitan for the Bryan Ferry concert, my sister's favorite singer....Wow, what a great concert, 4th row and he sang all the good ones!!
While at the Cosmo we dropped a couple 20's waiting for the concert to start, Christy won 232.00 and I backed that up with 1000.00!!! Wheeeeeeeeee! we were having fun!

Day 2 at Mandalay Bay, we get up and have breakfast tour the pool area but decided way too many babies and kids, so we head to the spa, nice choice, we go in the jacuzzi, the steam room, the dry sauna, back in the jacuzzi, lay out with cucumbers on our eyes, shower and dress and back to our room to get ready for another fun night...

We head over to the Tropicana because Robert Irvine opened Public House Restaurant and we must eat there! Oh the food was amazing, the onion fondue is to die for, I had a burger and Christy had the lobster roll, if we had ate there Friday, Robert was in there signing stuff and taking photos with everyone, dang it!!! We should have checked first!!! UGH!!!
We just love him!!
We finally arrive at Caesars Palace where we meet up with Tanya and her parents, they got tickets to see Rod Stewart too! We sit and talk until the concert starts then we head to our seats....
WOW, what another great concert, he sang all the favorites and he still sounds great and has so much fun up on stage, laughing and dancing! He was so cool!!!

Day 3 We get up have breakfast and head to my house to unpack, then we hurry off to Colleen's for a jewelry class, we are making the copper and silver cuff, they turned out fabulous!!
I thought I had a picture of Christy's but I can't find it, here is my new one:

We leave class, grab some steaks and veggies and head to my pool, we BBQ and drink wine then clean up and play in my craft room until bedtime!

Day 4 Sunday, Breakfast at Blueberry hill, antique mall, bingo at Red Rock, no winners there! We get home and head to our favorite Mexican place for dinner, Lindo Michoacon, yummy! Back to the craft room for more card making....In the morning we awake to dark skies but first a rainbow in my backyard...

What a happy ending to a fabulous weekend!
Hope everyone had just as much fun as I did!

Jewelry, cards, and more....

Gorgeous summers here in Las Vegas....
I have been busy playing in my craft room, took a jewelry class, I just had to make the silver and copper cuff, it is very nice!
The jewelry teacher lives not too far from me, you can find her at www.beadmetaler.blogspot.com

Here are the things that are keeping me busy:

Beautiful desert sky:

Making cards:
I sent this to K.Werner, she is a very inspiring art teacher on youtube.

Coloring in a book called The Coloring Studio:
Used my alcohol markers from blick to color this.

Making decals for mine and my sisters car, using my cricut:
Got the girl at a scrapbook retreat, I added the camera and cat using my cricut.

Painting with watercolors:
Galaxy background painted to use on a card but I think I will frame it and keep it!

Learned watercolor blending technique

And making jewelry:
You need a hydraulic press and lots of tools and stamps for this work, it was so fun to make!

Well, I hope everyone else is keeping busy....whew....fun in the Vegas sun!
Happy Summer!

Lucilles bbq copy cat?

My hubby loves to eat at Lucille's BBQ restaurant....me too, because it is next door to green valley resort and casino so it usually means I get to go to bingo after dinner..always a fun time!

But I can cook Lucille's at home if money is tight and we need to stay on budget...we love some BBQ chicken...

My friend Colleen Myler taught me to make homemade mac n cheese...I never look at the box stuff ever again....and hubby can't eat any one's but mine now!

so here you have BBQ chicken legs, thigh and leg, homemade mac and cheese, and homemade coleslaw...so good. I love this dinner during summer....one of our favorites...

Hope you all are having a great summer...cooking and vacationing....
Happy summer......
