Hi,
I just returned from scrapbook expo in Anahiem, CA.
It was a new venue for us, but it was a nice place. The convention center in Anahiem. Our hotel was right next door but it was still a long walk with all our scrapbook stuff!
We had a good time, and bought lots of cool stuff!
I will post more later..I need to get laundry done and my stuff orginized as I am off for a day at Green Valley ranch to go to Art and Soul!
More later, stay tuned...

Patience.....
I have a lot of patience, and that is a good thing.
Whenever I have a big ticket item I want, I usually wait it out and when I come into some money, I go buy what is on my wish list.
It is how I got my camera, my ipod, etc.
I did not buy my kitchenaid mixer at christmas, I hated to put out 300.00. So I waited and waited...
Then last night while playing 20.00 in keno I get this:

Bingo, Salsa and Bonnie?
Friday I snuck out of work and played bingo with Colleen McGraw. We went over to Boulder station and proceeded to win, we rock the bingo world. She got 150 and I got 50! Then we had a fabulous breakfast off the fit and lively menu at coco's, who thought scrambled egg whites and mushrooms and tomatoes could taste that good but they did! Yum! I love eating healthy, my body feels so much better!
Saturday found me and Charlie over at Lowe's for our consultation, 4800.00 for everything! Yeah! We are under budget!! So a couple more meetings to get the measurements right and finalize everything and soon I will be cooking in the cutest little kitchen you ever laid eyes on!
Oh, you want to know where the salsa comes in to the picture, after our lowe's meeting, we went to mimi's to have breakfast, I order the santa fe omelette, it comes with a little cup of salsa..when the waiter put my plate down he tilted it and the little bowl of salsa went sliding off right into my lap!! They gave me a wet towel to clean up but it was most embarrasing to walk out of there! My meal was free but what a price to pay!
Bonnie who?
Bonnie Raitt of course, Tanya and I took turns waiting for our secret source to post her tickets, Tanya snagged them up as soon as she saw them, I was only minutes behind her, but that girl is fast!
Saturday night Charlie drove us to Primm. We had a great dinner at Tony Roma's, then walked to the outlet mall, sat down for a drink, A jack and coke, then a crown and coke...you can sure tell the difference in the whiskey's, yes, I was conducting an experiment all in the name of science. You have to do what you have to do!
Then the concert started, Wow, that woman is amazing! At 62, she still has the voice and she looked great, no washed up, has been singer here, in fact I think she sang better and smoother then her early days! It was a wonderful concert!! The crowd loved it! Charlie actually wanted to see this one, he loves the bluesy women, Winona, Melissa, Bonnie.
I am so glad I have friends that love all kinds of music, I get to see it all, from musicals to lounge acts to big stars!! Here is one of her songs that really showcases the type of singer she is:
Enjoy!

Oh this is killing me!
Oh, now what do I do!! This picture melts my heart and makes me feel so happy!
I think I may have to go with this color mixer!
Now, normally I hate the color red, but I have read many, many articles on decorating and they all say red needs to go in the kitchen, so I was willing to throw some red in my aqua and white kitchen. Hmmm. I am so confused, I love the little red toaster and I think it needs to having a matching mixer. So only time will tell on which one I decide upon!!
But in the meantime my clock showed up, is this not the most amazing clock ever, perfect colors for the new kitchen!! I already have it up on the wall!! I am still working on getting the old wallpaper border off, boy, is that ever a pain!! Only 10 more feet to go!!

Valentine's Gift!
Well, I hope you all had fun on Valentine's day. After being married for 21 years I don't go for trying to go out to eat or gifts, I can't eat chocolate anyway!
But we do give each other cards, one funny and one mushy!
I get to eat out in restaurants all the time so I am happy with that, and I consider this kitchen window the best gift I could ever get!

Sunday I had a jewelry class and when I came home he had this side all filled in, we still need to sand and fill in any low spots, but WOW, I love it!!
I hung up my apron holder, it is perfect inside the pantry door!!
Ok I am getting the call today to set up a time to go in and get my estimate for the cabinets and counters, I have all my plans drawn up and my wishlist ready! I hope they can get it all in under budget!!
Stay tuned!

Progress!
I went antiquing today with my friend, Tanya, and found a couple items for my kitchen..I know it is premature, but I am so excited to get things going! Here are the cute little things I found, an apron holder, a little aqua dish and Tanya could not resist buying me a pastry blender and these cute little shakers with red tops! Perfect!
I will be measuring the kitchen tomorrow and then hopefully I will go to Lowe's and get an estimate this week for cabinets and counters!
I came home to find my hubby working on the wall...we wanted to open up the kitchen by putting in a window so I would not be left all alone while I am cooking. All we have left to do is drywall it up and paint!
Nice job honey!

Kitchen Ideas!
Ok, Here is the scheme I chose for my kitchen redo! White and Aqua, with just a little touch of red!
I am choosing white cabinets, gray counters and I will paint the wall and soffits aqua. I should be able to pull this look off. I will keep the dining room the same, only I will paint the wall white and put my old tin signs back up, I am also going to get a nice retro diner type clock for the area as well. So hang out for awhile and see I can acheive the look.
Here are a couple red items I will be buying:
I also need to search out some red, white, aqua fabric to redo the kitchen chairs in, has to be heavy duty, like barkcloth. I am thinking the old cherries vintage type fabric. The fun is in the find, so I will be scouring antique malls soon. I hope to have this done by my birthday in March!
Have a creative day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
GOTTA GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO MY SISTER.....CHRISTY!
SHE IS HAVING A BIRTHDAY TODAY!! A big one! 30, 40, 50, I am not talking!
Here she is dog sledding and I have never seen more happy! That was on our Alaska cruise! When we were younger Christy would drag me around to all kinds of stuff, she took me to my first scrapbooking crop, I went kicking and screaming the whole way, thinking that is really dumb to cut up photos and stick them in a book. HA! Little did I know some 12 years later, I am now making her go on scrapbook cruises, expo's, retreats, etc!!
We have gone to tons of concerts, we attended many a John Mellencamp concert and many a Chris Isaak concert together!
Recently, I took her to get her first tattoo, I know, what an awesome sister I am! hee-hee!!
I hope we have many more adventures together, I hope you have a great birthday!
See you soon, Love Jackie

My Spring Project!
Ok, I am finally getting around to this kitchen project!
After years (10 to be exact) I am finally going to redo my kitchen, blame it on my sister! Going to Christy and Jeff's for Christmas and seeing what a beautiful job they did on their kitchen makeover really inspired me.
The only thing I will spend money on is counters and cabinets, the rest I will do myself, well, maybe, we will see! Since I have a tiny galley kitchen I am hoping that won't cost an arm and leg!
Here are the before photos:
Tomorrow I will show you my plans for the new kitchen!

Whew!
The treadmill is working out great, I love my workouts now that someone else has figured out the details! I am also keeping an eye on what I am eating with my tap and track app on my iphone, it is awesome!!
I am back in the 120's where for my height and build is where I should be.
Looking forward to superbowl, I am cooking a turkey, mash potatoes, roasted asparagus, deviled eggs, cherry pie. I am trying a new recipe I got off tasty cooking blog for an appetizer, it is Hot Chorizo dip:
12 ounces, Chorizo
½ whole Medium Onion, Chopped
1 whole Jalapeno, Stem Removed And Diced
1 cup Refried Beans
¼ teaspoons Ground Cumin
1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Divided
2 whole Green Onions, diced
Preparation Instructions
1. Turn on the oven broiler.
2. In a pan, cook chorizo until cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Reserve 1 tablespoon of pan drippings.
3. In the same pan that you cooked the chorizo in, cook the onion and jalapenos just until softened, 2 – 3 minutes. Return chorizo to the pan and stir in refried beans, ground cumin and half of the cheddar cheese. Cook until the beans are warmed through and the cheese has melted. Transfer dip to a oven safe small baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and place under the broiler for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
4. Remove from oven sprinkle with green onions. Serve hot.
GO STEELERS!!

ProForm Treadmill
It's here, my new toy! I saved up for it and bought it myself!
It has programs built in so no more guessing if I am working out correctly, just push the button and go! It adjusts the incline and speed for me...today I did 30 minutes for 300 calorie burn.
It also has IFit live, I can go online and get more workouts and plug and play! I can even get a workout from Jillian Michaels herself and she will yell at me right there on my treadmill!! hahahaha! Not looking forward to that one!
It has speakers and a fan, my Ipod plugs right in and plays! I can go online and pick a route to run, like central park or red rock canyon...anywhere in the world...Hey, I might see if I can jog around a Pyramid! Or StoneHenge!
I hope to be in shape before we uncover the pool in May!
If you are in the market for a new treadmill or other exercise equipment, go to ProForm they have great machines and great prices and offer free shipping! That was a big plus for me since this weighs a lot! I actually got an upgraded model for no extra cost! They have excellent customer service! ProForm
Good luck!
